Electrical Design Engineer

Job description

We currently have a brand new opportunity for an electrical design engineer to join a well-established controls and automation company based in the Dartford area. The company specialises in bespoke electrical solutions within the switchgear industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Producing detailed designs using CAD software to enable production of control panel / switchgear arrangements & products to customer requirements.
2. Collaborate with project engineers to develop control panel / switchgear arrangements & products to customer requirements.
3. Collaborate with project engineers to ensure correct selection of components from suppliers that meet with suitability, availability and budget targets.
4. Producing complete parts lists for project engineers to aid with procurement of materials.
5. Ensuring compliance of designs to current internal and British standards.

Essential Requirements:

1. Professional qualification(s) in Electrical Engineering.
2. Able to read, interpret and follow engineering drawings.
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge and experience of ePlan or equivalent CAD packages.
5. Good knowledge and understanding of relevant standards.
6. Experience in the design of LV Installations.
7. Working knowledge of LV installations.

Desirable Experience:

1. Experience in the design of HV Installations.
2. Working knowledge of HV installations.
3. Experience in the design of Control and PLC circuits.
