Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Leeds is seeking an HV Design Engineer to represent the department in various project phases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HV networks and a degree in Electrical Engineering. Responsibilities include leading design work while ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and participating in team efforts. This role offers opportunities to work on high-voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in project implementation and maintaining internal/external interfaces.
• National Grid 132/275/400kV projects experience is essential.
• NG Persons & BESC certification is required but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Department at project start-up, scheme review, progress, close-out, liaison and other meetings.
• Be responsible for maintaining internal and external interfaces during the project.
• Undertake and lead design work with due regard to Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures and production of Designer Risk Assessments, as necessary.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• HV light current secondary design capability.
• Experience in the design of control and protection systems for HV networks and a degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Degree in Electrical Power Systems preferred.
• National Grid 132/275/400kV projects experience essential.
• SSE 132/275/400kV projects experience an advantage.
• NG Persons & BESC required, but not essential.
