Summary

JAB Recruitment is currently looking to source a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of our client who is a global leader in engineering and manufacturing solutions for the energy sector. This is a 2-year fixed-term contract directly with the client, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, contributing to innovative and technically advanced engineering projects with international reach.

The Role

Based at the client’s engineering HQ in Inverurie/Kintore, you will be a vital member of the global Wireline Systems and Wellhead Pressure Control Equipment team. Under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, you will design hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems using advanced CAE tools across the full project lifecycle, from concept and proposal to completion and delivery.

This role blends strong technical capability with commercial awareness, requiring someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting where innovation, collaboration, and attention to detail are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop bespoke electrical systems using advanced CAE tools.
  • Lead and deliver design projects, including cost estimation, technical validation, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet budget, timeline, and client specifications.
  • Provide expert technical support internally and externally, including on-site support for installations, testing, and client-facing engagements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical design within oil & gas or related engineering industries.
  • Proficiency with CAE tools and standardised engineering documentation.
  • Deep knowledge of industry regulations, technical standards, and best practices.

Desirable Experience

  • Background in hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture principles.
  • Previous experience working in cross-functional, multi- engineering teams.
