Job summary

Major Recruitment North West Perms in Haslingden, Lancashire is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to take concepts through to finished vehicle designs. The role involves working on refrigerated commercial vehicles, assembling wiring looms, control circuits, refrigeration units, tail lifts, lighting, cameras, batteries and charging systems.

You will translate customer requirements into electrical schematics and BOMs, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs

Qualifications

• Producing and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, using CAD to create engineering documentation.
• Low-voltage electrical systems and creating electrical Bills of Materials.
• Applying a qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• See your electrical designs through from the first concept to the finished vehicle.
• Follow projects from customer requirements through to manufacture, testing and production release.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and aftersales teams to ensure designs perform in practice and to drive future standardisation.
• Turn customer requirements into electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and Bills of Materials, working with suppliers to meet specs.
• Support design verification, investigate electrical issues and help resolve problems in production and aftersales.

Electrical Design Engineer

Bring your electrical design experience to a role where you'll follow projects from customer requirements through to manufacture, testing and production release.

Working closely with engineering, production and aftersales colleagues, you'll see how your designs perform in practice and use that feedback to improve them. You'll also contribute to the electrical standards and technologies used in future vehicles.

Put your design skills to work across different systems

Your projects will involve refrigerated commercial vehicles, bringing together wiring looms, control circuits and equipment such as refrigeration units, tail lifts, lighting, cameras, batteries and charging systems.

You'll turn customer requirements into electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and Bills of Materials, working with component and loom suppliers to make sure the finished systems meet your specifications.

There's involvement beyond the drawing stage, too: supporting design verification, investigating electrical issues and helping production and aftersales teams resolve technical problems.

The experience that matters
