Job summary

Nordson Test & Inspection in Colchester, United Kingdom, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical/electronic design and testing of X-Ray and Bond Test products, and to maintain existing products.

You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to prototyping, circuit design and BOM documentation while upholding safety standards and quality.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience designing electrical/electronic systems in an industrial setting.
• Experience of designing electromechanical systems (e.g. robotics, production automation).
• Solid experience of working as part of a team on medium to large engineering projects.
• Extensive experience of designing electrical panels for industrial systems (circuit breakers, contactors).
• Experience of specifying and designing wiring looms for electrical machinery.
• CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, Cadstar).
• Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards (IEC61010, NPA79).
• Team player with a proactive approach to problem resolution.
• Communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
• A high degree of flexibility in a continuously changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and documentation of electrical panels, PCBs and general machine wiring.
• Basic mechanical design for electro–mechanical elements of machines.

Summary of the role

You, as Electrical Design Engineer, will be responsible for supporting the electrical/electronic design and testing of new X–Ray and Bond Test products as well as the maintenance of existing products.
