Job summary

Nordson Test & Inspection in Colchester, United Kingdom seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical/electronic design and testing of X-Ray and Bond Test products, and to maintain existing products.

You will design electrical panels, PCBs and wiring, prototype electrical components, and contribute to BOM management. Travel between Colchester and nearby sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree level education or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Several years experience designing electrical/electronic systems in an industrial setting.
• Experience in designing electromechanical systems (e.g., robotics, production automation).
• Extensive experience designing electrical panels for industrial systems (circuit breakers, contactors).
• Experience specifying and designing wiring looms for electrical machinery.
• CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, Cadstar)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and layout of electrical support systems for X‑Ray and Bond Test machinery.
• Design and document electrical panels, PCBs and general machine wiring.
• Perform basic mechanical design for electro‑mechanical elements of machines.
• Practical electrical and electronic prototyping.
• Specify, document and manage electrical bills of materials.
• Support and improve electrical design of existing product range.
