Job description

VGC Group Lowestoft are delighted to be recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for our Client based in Beccles, Suffolk.


This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.


Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with colleagues to produce electrical layouts for automated machinery.
  2. Produce electrical designs that are compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and procedures.
  3. Ensure designs eliminate any hazards which may give rise to risks, reducing risks from any remaining hazards.
  4. Produce Electrical Parts Lists/Bills of Materials, for all electrical and pneumatic aspects of a project.
  5. Be part of regular meetings with different teams to understand the requirements of the projects.

Qualifications:
  1. Degree level or vocational training/apprenticeship in electrical and or mechanical disciplines.
  2. Conversant in the use of AutoCAD and skilled with EPlan software.
  3. Electrical, pneumatics and mechanical experience, ideally within the automation industry but not essential.
  4. Programming experience (desirable).
  5. Problem solving abilities.
  6. Able to work on their own initiative.
  7. Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  8. Great verbal and written communication skills.
