Job summary

A technical engineering firm in the UK is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the engineering team in designing electrical equipment for heavy vehicles and fuel cell applications. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review design requirements and assist engineering team.
• Produce design calculations and corresponding paperwork.
• Produce and approve drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Conduct technical investigations and maintain design processes.
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, and Customer Support.

Electrical Design Engineer

KAP Technical are currently working a client who are working towards expansion into the Automotive sector for heavy vehicles (buses, lorries trucks etc) and Fuel Cell applications.

Are looking to recruit the following.

Electrical design engineer who can provide expertise to support the engineering team with the design of electrical equipment for a range of industrial applications. This is a pivotal role to the business as the design team continue to develop innovative solutions to meet customer specifications and develop products for new market applications.

• Review design requirements & assist engineering team with technical aspects of designs including specification of materials.
• Produce design calculations and corresponding paperwork to manufacture designs (resistor element and design overview sheets).
• Produce and Approve drawings, Bills of Materials and other design information issued for equipment manufacture.
• Conduct technical investigations, develop, and maintain appropriate design and support processes, carrying out root cause analysis and initiating corrective action as necessary.
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support.

Ideally you will have the following.

• Qualified to degree level in electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of, and experience of designing in accordance with IEC 60204 and IEC 61439.

Experience of the product CE marking process and DFMEA.

A high level of competency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical is required.
