Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to take on a leadership role, supporting the design and delivery of a variety of building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage electrical design projects from inception to completion.
Provide mentorship and oversight to junior engineers and design staff.
Manage design deliverables including specifications, drawings, schedules, and cost estimates using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Liaise directly with clients and attend design and progress meetings.
Prepare fee proposals, assist with fee assessments, and monitor project budgets.
Conduct site surveys, produce detailed technical reports, and perform quality inspections.
Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Use AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) in accordance with internal procedures.
Monitor and manage project finances and timelines.
Required Experience

Strong background in electrical design engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment.
Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and design teams.
Proficient in producing specifications, calculations (manual and software-based), and tender packages.
Capable of reviewing and analyzing returned tenders and providing recommendations.
Skilled in producing cost estimates and condition reports.
Previous experience with direct client liaison and on-site project management.
Comfortable carrying out site surveys across the UK (travel required).
Technical Knowledge

Familiar with current UK Building Regulations, particularly relating to energy efficiency and controls.
Sound understanding of: CIBSE Guides, IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), CDM Regulations, British Standards, Revit/BIM standards
