Electrical Design Engineer, £50K - £60K, commutable from Ashby, Coalville, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham

• Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to make a real impact in the industrial engineering sector?

• Join a dynamic team and take ownership of end-to-end design for bespoke electrical control systems across a variety of exciting projects.

• £50K - £60K salary guide + benefits including 25 days holiday, pension, and flexibility on working hours.

Your background as an Electrical Design Engineer:

• Previous experience of working in an Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Project Engineer or similar electrical engineering focused position within an industrial engineering / manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of electrical components and control panel systems.

• Be able to use CAD tools / electrical design software such as AutoCAD / EPLAN etc...

• You will hold a recognised electrical engineering qualified e.g., apprenticeship, HNC, HND, degree etc...

• Be able to work collaboratively with customers and internal teams from concept to commissioning to successfully deliver projects.

Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the full project lifecycle.

• Engaging with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide technical input into project tenders.

• Designing and developing detailed 2D and 3D electrical models, I/O schematics, and control panel layout drawings.

• Ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client expectations.

• Preparing project documentation, including technical specifications and Bills of Materials (BoMs).

• Collaborating with panel builders, electricians, and PLC programmers to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

• Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges throughout the design and installation process.
