Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd in Chippenham is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join an environmental engineering specialist. The role offers up to GBP60,000 per year and focuses on designing control panels for wastewater projects.

You will use CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN) to create schematics, layouts and wiring diagrams, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support the commissioning and testing phases to ensure FAT and SAT success.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of low-voltage motor control panel design.
• Proficient in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
• Experience with machine safety standards (ISO 13849).
• Formal engineering qualification.
• Able to deliver cost-effective solutions meeting customer requirements.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems after training.

Electrical Design Engineer

Chippenham

Up to GBP60,000

Our client is an environmental engineering specialist and they are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing company!

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design of both bespoke and standard control panels, as well as electrical installation schematics, for a variety of wastewater treatment projects
• Create detailed electrical schematics, 2D layouts, and wiring diagrams for control panels, compliant with customer specifications and industry standards using CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into new machinery
• Interfacing with different internal and external stakeholders
• Support the panel assembly team during build and testing phases of control panels
• Document design revisions, support DCNs (Design Change Notices), and participate in design reviews
• Support the commissioning team to ensure successful FAT and SAT

Ideal Candidate

• Solid understanding of low-voltage motor control panel design
• You will be proficient in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
• Experience with machine safety and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849)
• Completed a formal qualification in an Engineering discipline
• Able to demonstrate a practical approach to engineering to develop cost effective solution that meet customer requirements
• You will have good verbal and written communication skills
• Conversant with an internal ERP system after a period of training

Working Hours and Benefits

• Monday to Friday: 8:00am / 8:30am to 16:00pm / 16:30pm
• 40 hours a week
• 23 days holiday (which 3 of those will need to be saved for Christmas shutdown) and with the completion of each year of service (providing you have worked a full holiday year - Jan - Dec) you will receive an additional day's holiday up to a maximum of 33 days after ten years
• 4 % employer pension, employee contribution is 4%, we increase our contribution after 5 years to 6%
• Company discretionary bonus: 10 % of the company's profit before tax is annually shared amongst all employees - you will receive it pro-rata for the previous financial year
• Sick Bonus: GBP50 a quarter
