Qualifications

• Expérience de plus de 5 ans en conception électrique dans des environnements industriels ou FMCG.
• Compétences en sécurité des machines (connaissance de SIL/PL souhaitable).
• Capacité à produire une documentation technique pour les installations.

Responsibilities

• Concevoir des panneaux électriques et des installations sur site.
• Élaborer des schémas de câblage PLC et effectuer des calculs de câblage.
• Mener la validation de la sécurité sur site et assurer la livraison des projets.

Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Peterborough

Industry: Engineering / Automation / Industrial Controls

Type: Full–time, Permanent

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of critical engineering services, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team near Peterborough. This role covers full–cycle design work from concept through to commissioning on control system and automation projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical panels and field installations
• Electrical control schematics
• Panel layouts & BOMs
• Loop diagrams & cable block diagrams
• PLC wiring diagrams & I/O schedules
• Perform cable sizing and LV distribution calculations
• Design safety circuits and conduct risk assessments (BS EN ISO 13849 / 60261)
• Produce technical documentation for installations
• Liaise with site teams to ensure project delivery
• Lead site commissioning and safety validation Requirements
• Strong understanding of machine safety circuits (SIL/PL knowledge beneficial)
• Experience with PLC wiring, instrumentation, and motor starter systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design software
• Fault–finding experience in large–scale control panels
• Solid knowledge of industrial automation standards

Qualifications

• HNC, BTEC, and/or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified
• 5+ years in electrical design (preferably in industrial or FMCG environments)
