Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a Samlesbury-based role with hybrid working 2–3 days per week. The contract runs for 12 months initially, with a rate of 47.12 per hour (Umbrella Inside IR35).

The role offers engagement with one of the UK's leading Defence organisations in a hybrid office setting. The candidate will bring airframe design experience, lead design tasks, and collaborate across disciplines while managing customer and supplier interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Airframe Design role, or equivalent 'near–neighbour' disciplines.
• Experience of operating in an airframe design role, or equivalent in one or more phases of the product lifecycle.
• Awareness of product lifecycle requirements and the importance of governance to product integrity.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Samlesbury based role (Hybrid working 2–3 days per week)

47.12 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35

12 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based in Samlesbury. Hybrid working 2–3 days per week in the office.

Knowledge

• Experience in an Airframe Design role, or equivalent 'near–neighbour' disciplines.
• Experience of operating in an airframe design role, or equivalent in one or more phases of the product lifecycle.
• Awareness of product lifecycle requirements and the importance of governance to product integrity.

Skills

• Proficiency in a CAD system, typically CATIA V5 or equivalent toolset, with experience in a PLM system.
• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary integrated product development environment, influencing adjacent disciplines.
• Experience of working with external customers, suppliers and partners.
• Experience of managing Design tasks to meet engineering design requirements and programme requirements.
• Experience in leading and guiding other Design staff.
• Experience in holding a design check signature.
