Electrical Design Engineer (Building Consultancy) Birmingham to £60,000 + Package

Talent Motion specializes in transitioning experienced M&E Design Engineers from traditional M&E design consultancy into client-side Building Consultancy.

You will design across all RIBA stages 1-7, ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields.

With a 20-strong M&E team, the business traditionally focused on all aspects of M&E Surveying, but over recent years, they have invested in growing their M&E Design, Project Management, and Decarbonisation service offerings.

As a global Building Consultancy, their main difference from traditional design consultancies is that they have access to their own client base and do not need to competitively tender for projects. This results in a less pressurized environment and provides the financial resources to recruit into the M&E team when needed, rather than expecting employees to shoulder more pressure and work excessive hours.

Essentially, this is a client-side role that offers direct access to clients, working on their behalf as part of the client team and acting as the client’s representative. It provides unique insights into the client’s perspectives and the drivers behind commercial property ownership.

Responsibilities:

1. Electrical building services detailed design
2. Feasibility and scheme design reports
3. Decarbonisation design/delivery

7. Undertake property surveys (with guidance from the team)
8. Produce due diligence reports (acquisition/dilapidations/development)
