Job summary

SSE Renewables seeks an Electrical Craftsperson to join our Hydro Generation Operations and Maintenance team at Clachan, Sloy or Inverawe power stations in Argyll. Salary £36,139 – £43,188 with performance bonus and benefits.

You will perform mechanical/electrical maintenance and civil works, coordinate with maintenance colleagues, and conduct equipment inspections. A full driving licence is essential and relocation within 30 miles may be required.

Qualifications

• Electrical/craftsperson background with an emphasis on electrical generation equipment.
• NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds or equivalent craft apprenticeship certificates.
• Good computer literacy and ability to use maintenance/software tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical/electrical maintenance activities and civil works within competence.
• Liaise with maintenance personnel for rectification, repair and project work.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment and fixed plant operate safely.
• Report defects, carry out risk assessments and support safety inspections.
