Job location: Chesterfield

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an Electrical Controls System Engineer / Software Engineer Controls System for a 6-month contract position (Outside IR35) in Chesterfield, UK.

Role

As a Controls System Engineer, you will be responsible for site installation, retesting, surveys, full system testing, CFAT, SAT, and installation. You should have experience in system specification, design, development, and testing, with hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA systems.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering project modules including PLC, SCADA, testing, networking, documentation, and hardware design. Ensuring projects meet technical and quality standards, identifying opportunities and variations, and adhering to company quality processes are key aspects of this role.

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installations, and instrumentation solutions.
• A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline, or status as an Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration.

Desirable Experience

• Development of project modules including PLC code, SCADA scripts, Mimics, and communication drivers.
• Preparation of O & M documentation, FDS, DDS, test specs, and testing methodologies.
• Experience in site documentation, risk assessments, method statements, site testing, and handling system packing and shipping.

The successful candidate must obtain SC clearance before starting the contract.
