Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Controls Engineer role

Reporting to the Electrical Contract Manager you will:

* Production of FDS / SDS.
* Design and programming of PLC / HMI / SCADA systems for various industries using SIEMENS, Mitsubishi etc. equipment. (SIEMENS essential)
* AutoCAD design of electrical distribution / motor control centres and PLC control systems.
* Attend client and sub-contractor meetings to support the project by providing technical expertise.
* Production of test documents FAT/SAT, and visits to panel manufacturer premises for Factory Acceptance Testing.
* Prepare estimates, tenders, design specifications, and tender specifications.
* Author O&M Manuals.
* Keep abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Controls Engineer.
* Engineering qualification to at least level 4 (HND/Degree or equivalent).
* Relevant design (AutoCAD) experience in a relevant electrical design / controls engineering role
* Experience in control panel / MCC design, ideally with SIEMENS equipment. Project management experience will be an advantage.
* Knowledge of industrial control systems including electrical distribution equipment, MCCs, and PLC control panels.
* Working knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS7671
* Ability to produce and manage RAMS.

* Has the flexibility to attend various sites across the UK when required
* Experience in a turnkey project environment
* Highly organised with attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work proactively both individually and as part of a team.
