Electrical Control Design Engineer

Job type: Permanent

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a EC&I Design Engineer for a permanent position in Shrewsbury (hybrid). This role involves working within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.

Role

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at the control panel manufacturing facility in Haydock, with the option for hybrid working. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels and related systems.

Main Responsibilities

You will manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, support construction during manufacturing, and handle change control. You will interpret customer requirements into engineering solutions, manage client expectations regarding project scope, and oversee engineering estimates, costs, progress, scope changes, and man-hours.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience
• 5-10 years of professional engineering design or technical specialist experience
• Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH
• Knowledge of electrical engineering, including developing, testing, and evaluating designs
• Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria

Advantageous Knowledge

Experience in Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, Motor Control Centres, and Variable Drive Systems.
