Job Description:

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Electrical Controls Design Engineer for a permanent position in Leeds. This role involves working within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.

Role

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, based at a manufacturing facility in Leeds with options for hybrid working. As an Electrical Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels and related systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects.
• Support construction during manufacturing, including change control.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
• Manage client expectations regarding project scope.
• Prepare, check, and approve engineering and design estimates.
• Control and report project costs, progress, scope changes, and man-hours.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
• 5-10 years of professional engineering design/technical experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering, including developing, testing, and evaluating designs.
• Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria.

Advantageous Knowledge

Experience in Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, motor control centres, and variable drive systems.
