Job Description:

Our client is an established manufacturer of automated machinery. Due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical Controls and Software Design Engineer.

The Role:

The Electrical Controls and Software Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing controls and PLC software systems for a wide range of automated packaging machinery.

  • Design electrical controls using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN software
  • Write and develop PLC code using Rockwell and Beckhoff
  • Write and develop HMI, servo motion, and safety code using various software
  • Prepare BOMs
  • Attend customer meetings and design review meetings
  • Assist with machine commissioning remotely and/or on-site
Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced electrical design engineer with excellent software design and PLC/HMI programming skills using Rockwell, Beckhoff, and Zennon. You should have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role and a good understanding of control systems for automated machinery. A minimum of HNC/HND in electrical engineering is required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN design software.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
