Job Description:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery. Due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer.

The successful candidate will provide office-based technical support and field electrical maintenance support. The role is primarily office-based with some travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.

The Role:

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for delivering remote technical support (via phone or online) to customers and assisting engineers with machine commissioning and installations in the field.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting customers and service engineers with remote technical support, such as electrical modifications, resolving software faults, and implementing software changes (Allen Bradley, Siemens, HMI's)
• Programming electrical components sold as spares
• Providing field support for machine installations, commissioning, and maintenance
• Onsite installation and commissioning of control systems
• Supporting the Field Service Manager in responding to customer service calls and emails
• Identifying and promoting machine modifications and upgrades

Candidate:

You should be a qualified electrical engineer with good PLC control skills in Siemens and Allen Bradley. Programming skills are beneficial but not essential.

You must have previous experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated machinery.

You should possess excellent customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
