Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment has a vacancy for an Electrical Control Technician (Water Treatment / MEICA) to join their delivery team across the Midlands with UK travel. The role covers electrical, instrumentation and control system installation, commissioning and fault-finding, with hands-on training and clear progression opportunities.

You will gain experience on MEICA projects across water treatment and wastewater facilities, travel UK-wide and develop expertise in PLCs, MCCs, instrumentation

Qualifications

• Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls background required.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installation and commissioning of MEICA systems.
• Learn to set up, scale and calibrate field instrumentation.
• Assist with FATs, SATs, pre-test inspections and snagging.
• Liaise with engineers and customers to support project delivery.
• Travel throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

Are you an Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls Engineer looking to develop your career in the water industry, with extensive training, UK-wide projects and a clear route to progression?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist process engineering company who deliver innovative solutions across the water, energy, environmental and facilities sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and a people-first culture, you'll receive hands‑on training and mentoring from experienced engineers.

You will join the delivery and commissioning team, working on water and wastewater treatment projects across the UK. You'll gain experience installing, commissioning and fault‑finding electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems, whilst developing your knowledge across a range of technologies and processes.

This role would suit a Junior Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technician looking for extensive technical training, UK-wide project exposure and the opportunity to progress into a senior commissioning or engineering position.

The Role:
