Job description

Controls Engineer – London – Up to £60,000 + Benefits

We’re hiring for a Controls Engineer to join a high-growth, sustainability-focused robotics scale-up based in London. Backed by major investors and with cutting-edge automation tech already deployed across Europe and the US, this company is reshaping how waste is processed and recycled.

This is a hands-on opportunity to join a highly capable engineering team working on complex robotic systems that combine hardware, software, and AI.

The Role

As a Controls Engineer, you’ll be involved in both new product implementation and supporting existing systems in the field. You’ll help design, build, and troubleshoot control systems that power intelligent solutions, working with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and more.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing control systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000
  • Supporting production and resolving electrical/control issues on deployed units
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and performance
  • Travelling across Europe for installations and onsite support (occasional weekends)
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years in a similar Controls or Electrical Systems role
  • PLC programming (preferably Allen-Bradley/Studio 5000)
  • Hands-on experience with field support, instrumentation, and fault-finding
  • Comfortable with electromechanical systems (pneumatics, actuators, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

This is an urgent requirement, and interviews are taking place immediately. If you’re a hands-on Controls Engineer who’s passionate about tech for good, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
