Qualifications

Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician - Coggeshall - Up to 53,000 - 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays!

Are you an experienced Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician looking to work in a state-of-the-art facility that values innovation, safety, and sustainability? A leading waste management and energy recovery site is seeking a skilled professional to join their maintenance team.

About the Role:

As an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising electrical, control, and instrumentation systems within a highly automated energy recovery facility. This advanced site processes non-recyclable waste, converting it into electricity for the national grid.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on EC&I systems
  • Supporting planned and unplanned shutdown activities
  • Ensuring engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external service providers
  • Identifying and contributing to operational improvement projects

Who We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 (preferred), HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in electrical, control & instrumentation maintenance
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a complex operational environment (e.g., Power Generation, Industrial Process, Oil & Gas)
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLCs
  • Familiarity with Low, Medium, and High Voltage switching and control equipment
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Ability to work as part of a 24/7 operational team, including participation in an on-call rota
