We are seeking an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineer for a full-time position based in Derby. The role offers flexible working arrangements, including in-office and remote work.
Multiple exciting opportunities are available to work on submarine EC&I, Dreadnought, and SSNA projects. The EC&I sub-system teams are responsible for the end-to-end design of reactor control & instrumentation, integration, commissioning, power systems control, and sensors. The design lifecycle spans from concept through detailed design, verification & validation, production, build, and commissioning support.
The department collaborates with various internal and external teams, including supply chain, manufacturing engineering, and shipbuilding support, contributing to both Dreadnought and SSNA programs.

We seek candidates who are qualified to degree level or equivalent in electrical/electronics systems engineering, and members of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IET). Experience in architecture design, V&V, and requirements capture is essential. Background in power/control electronics, sensor design, or systems engineering is preferred.
Desired skills include experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and knowledge of NSRP electrical systems. We value proactive individuals capable of working across disciplines and supply chains.
