Job summary

Skyward Select is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects across London and the surrounding regions, including data centre environments. You will manage contracts from award through to commissioning, coordinating teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to deliver on time and within budget.

The role focuses on switchgear, UPS and generator systems, with responsibility for safe delivery, programme management and commercial performance

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Electrical Project Manager.
  • Strong electrical engineering or installation background.
  • Detailed knowledge of switchgear, UPS and standby generator systems.
  • Experience managing upgrades within live operational environments.
  • Understanding of shutdown planning, temporary power and contingency procedures.
  • Strong commercial, contractual and programme-management skills.
  • Excellent client-facing, leadership and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel across London and the surrounding regions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical infrastructure projects from award to handover.
  • Lead switchgear, UPS, generator and electrical distribution upgrades.
  • Develop project programmes, procurement schedules and delivery plans.
  • Plan shutdowns, changeovers, enabling works and contingency arrangements.
  • Coordinate design, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Manage Project Managers, site teams and specialist subcontractors.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for clients and consultants.
  • Monitor budgets, variations, forecasts and commercial performance.
  • Identify and manage technical, operational and programme risks.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor responsibilities.
  • Maintain high health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Produce clear reports covering programme, cost, procurement and risk.

Job description

An established engineering services-led Principal Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects across London and the surrounding regions.

The business delivers technically complex upgrades within operational data centres and other mission-critical environments. This is an excellent opportunity to manage projects involving switchgear, UPS and generator systems from contract award through to commissioning and handover.

You will take responsibility for the safe, commercial and successful delivery of multiple electrical infrastructure projects.

Acting as the principal client contact, you will manage internal teams, specialist subcontractors and supply chain partners while ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and with minimal disruption to live operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical infrastructure projects from award to handover.
