Electrical Contracts Manager Location: South Wales

Who you will be working for: Our client, an established Electrical Contractor in Bristol Southwest for 40 years plus, opened their office in Cardiff South Wales in the Autumn of 2024.

Job description

As an Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be accountable for overseeing and managing electrical contracts from start to finish, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires effective coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality electrical services throughout the contract life cycle.

Your primary responsibilities as an Electrical Contracts Manager will include:

  1. Ensuring site teams adhere to health and safety (H&S) regulations and the client's safety procedures.
  2. Preparing and submitting accurate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to clients as necessary. Conducting H&S site audits and leading Toolbox Talks.
  3. Developing detailed testing schedules, including tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  4. Managing project timelines, identifying critical paths, and addressing any potential delays or issues.
  5. Providing coaching and mentorship to staff, including conducting performance reviews.
  6. Leading site engineers to meet project schedules and client deadlines.
  7. Overseeing the financial performance of contracts, ensuring control over costs and adherence to budgets.
  8. Managing multiple sites and contracts at the same time.
  9. Accurately and promptly preparing tenders and quotes for small to medium-sized electrical projects.
  10. Conducting site surveys for clients and working alongside other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  11. Handling invoicing and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and legally compliant.
  12. Developing and monitoring project budgets to ensure effective cost management.

Requirements for the Electrical Contracts Manager job:

  • A relevant NVQ or degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.

  • A full and clean driving licence is a requirement.
