Job summary

Warwickshire College is seeking a Trainer Assessor in Electrical Construction based at our Royal Leamington Spa College. The role involves liaising with employers and learners to assess competencies in the workplace and deliver high-quality vocational assessment.

You will be responsible for coordinating work placements, guiding learners through course choices, and promoting training solutions to meet industry needs. A strong CPD mindset and a UK driving licence are expected.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent apprenticeship route.
Assessor’s Award (preferably A1) or equivalent.
GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent. Willing to achieve within 12 months.
Proven knowledge of Health & Safety in the vocation.
Wide technical knowledge in the vocation.
Experience liaising with industrial partners.
UK driving licence free of major endorsements.
Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

Guide and support students from initial enquiry to course selection.
Coordinate work placements and monitoring with employers and agencies.
Ensure safe, suitable work placements and clearly identified training.
Promote recruitment for automotive courses at careers events.
Collaborate with Marketing and WBL teams to market courses effectively.
Represent the Work Based Learning Team in promotional activities.
Arrange bespoke industry training when needed.
Mentor candidates and monitor academic and vocational progress.
Liaise with employers and assessors to ensure opportunities for competency assessment.
Carry out formal NVQ assessments and progress reviews with learners and employers.
