At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as an Electrical Construction Engineer at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and support services, enabling different contractors to work seamlessly to install cabling and pipework across the power station’s 2,500 rooms.

The role

As an Electrical Construction Engineer, you’ll lead and manage the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.

Day-to-day, you’ll deliver E&I Construction Workpacks supporting the MEH Alliance program, demonstrate strong HSE leadership, and promote a compliant HS&E culture throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support the use of the Procon system for construction works and progress reporting.
• Manage Work Authorization and Permit systems in compliance with NNB requirements.
• Coordinate safe access routing to workfaces for construction activities.
• Support topographical and other surveys needed for construction.
• Prioritize and manage documentation to align with the level 4 plan, e.g., T-3 months acceptance prior to works.
• Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role based on 37 hours per week at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience

• Experience in major construction projects, with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent vocational training in electrical systems installation.
