What we are looking for?

The Electrical Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring JBH's continued compliance with its Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work (LVSSW) and upholding the highest standards of electrical safety and operational integrity.

This role involves assessing the competency of electrical engineers and issuing appropriate Authorised Person (AP) and Competent/Approved Person (ANP) appointments. The Electrical Compliance Manager ensures that all Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS) are not only in place but actively followed across all electrical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the standards for electrical installations as dictated by BS7671 and Audited by our professional affiliation with the NICIEC. Be available as required for the yearly audits carried out and maintain our internal filling systems with the correct documentation that can be reviewed during audits e.g. test equipment calibration certificates, test certificates and regulation updates.
  • Ensure any regulation revisions updates and news letters are circulated within the business and stored in the central file electronically
  • Ensure that each contract within the business identifies early who will be the Appointed Person (AP) and Deputy Appointed Person for the project. Working to JBH Electrical Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work (LVSSW)
  • Assist with ensuring a safe working environment
  • Ensure that competency levels of the individuals put forward by the project teams are suitable and fulfil the requirements of JBH (LVSSW). And that the Site Authorisation Personnel Request for Electrical LV works has been completed
  • Maintain all records of appointments electronically on the server for easy access by all
  • Ensure any updates and revisions to our (LVSSW) are recorded#
  • Provide support and additional training as required to ensure competency levels are met by internal JBH Staff or their Appointed Subcontractors fulfilling (AP/ANP) roles
  • Where necessary visit site reviews the job specific plan for energisation meets the requirements of the (LVSSW)and provide advice and amend along with the project teams (AP/ANP)
  • Visit sites and carry out an audit prior to energisations where possible to ensure the site is operating correctly. Also monitor quality and standards of installation during audits on site.
  • Keep records of all sites where energisation has taken place ensuring that the client/main contractor has been notified of the energisations in advance
  • Report any failings or concerns on how the (LVSSW) is being implemented to the line manager so any failings can be escalated with the project delivery teams
  • Issue and cancel (AP/ANP) Appointments when projects complete
  • Ensure First Aid training of proposed (AP/ANP) in date
  • Record any dangerous occurrences

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Electrician and hold 18 th Edition qualification and City & Guilds Testing and Inspection and Certification such as 2391 or 2394 & 2395 etc with a strong electrical understanding of low voltage systems both domestic and commercial
  • Has adequate Knowledge of Electrical Safety Guidance and regulations listed within
  • Must be technically competent and qualified to safely operate, and make safe to work on equipment, systems, or installations for this appointment
  • Has completed an emergency first aid course in the last 3 years with expiry more than 6 months from the date of request.
  • Has completed a recognised Authorised Persons (LV) training course in the past
  • Needs to be accessed and fully conversant with the requirements of JBH Electrical Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work (LVSSW)
  • Needs to have been a Qualifying Supervisor for NICIEC/ECA or will need to be assessed by the NICIEC to obtain the (QS) Qualifying Supervisors position within JBH
