Electrical Compliance Engineer

Location: Cardiff

Hours of work: 41.25

The nature of the sites we service provides daily opportunities to earn overtime, with flexible working hours available, particularly during school holidays, offering either more standard finish times or continued later working hours for enhanced rates.

Job Description

The Electrical Compliance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation condition reports (EICR) and any associated remedial works across retail, commercial, and office environments, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard and in line with current NICEIC certification requirements.

To be successful in this role, you must be fully conversant with BS7671:18th edition wiring regulations, have a strong eye for detail, and be confident working independently to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Fixed Wire Testing and produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across multiple ISS contracts
  • Identify and create remedial work packages based on test results, ensuring compliance with BS7671: 18th Edition regulations
  • Work independently across sites, demonstrating strong self-motivation, organisation, and responsibility
  • Deliver all electrical inspection and remedial works to high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records, including reports, vehicle logs, and certification, in line with company procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSEQ policies and statutory regulations
  • Act as a professional representative of ISS, proactively engaging with clients and addressing any concerns appropriately

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Fixed Wire Testing within commercial environments
  • Qualified to 18th Edition (BS7671) Wiring Regulations
  • Hold City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Test & Inspection certification
  • Electrical Installation qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of electrical compliance and safety standards
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
