Job summary

Skilled Careers seeks an experienced Commissioning Manager with a strong Electrical bias to lead commissioning for high-profile commercial projects on a long-term freelance basis. Initial work in Central London, then Central Cambridge, with responsibilities spanning testing, handover and client coordination.

The role requires coordinating M&E contractors, consultants and commissioning teams, maintaining programmes, and ensuring compliance with British Standards and project specs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Manager.
• Strong Electrical bias with detailed knowledge of LV electrical systems and building services.
• Experience managing commissioning activities on major commercial projects.
• Excellent knowledge of commissioning processes, testing and handover requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all electrical commissioning activities across assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain commissioning programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate commissioning activities between M&E contractors, specialist subcontractors, consultants and the client team.
• Review commissioning strategies, plans, method statements, inspection and testing documentation.
• Monitor progress on site and identify potential commissioning risks, delays and technical issues.
• Provide regular progress reports to the client and commissioning management team.
• Assist with the identification and resolution of defects and commissioning-related issues.
