The role

As an Electrical Designer within Cavendish Nuclear, your work will support decommissioning nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and the operation and construction of nuclear power plants. Our goal is to clean up nuclear legacy and promote nuclear energy for national security, energy supply, and net zero commitments.

Daily responsibilities include creating design solutions and deliverables that meet standards and lifecycle requirements, from concept to in-service support.

  • Prepare and produce drawings throughout the design lifecycle, adhering to ISO standards and meeting project requirements.
  • Promote collaboration across design and other teams.
  • Maintain project documentation, including 'as built' and datum pack updates.
  • Coordinate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure design functionality and contribute to reviews.
  • Develop innovative solutions and address manufacturing and installation issues.
  • Assist senior designers with estimates, quality improvements, and industry updates.
Essential experience
  • Knowledge of CAD tools
  • Knowledge of general engineering drawing practice
Qualifications
  • ONC/HNC/HND (or equivalent) or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) or appropriate apprenticeship

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
