Job Description:

Overview

JBT currently has a great opportunity for an Electrical Assembly Technician to join the Proseal team in Cheshire! You will work within a team to wire, build and test machinery intended for the food industry. You will join a team of 29 technicians within the electrical department and will report to our Electrical Manager. You will work in conjunction with our mechanical assembly team as well as our quality department. We are looking for someone who has experience within an engineering organisation and is able to read and understand engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and BOMs. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will mainly be based on-site in Adlington, Cheshire, but may also need to communicate with other departments across our 6 buildings. There may also be a requirement to attend customer sites to conduct installations of the equipment you have helped build, alongside our Field Service and Projects team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Wire panel back-plates, doors etc., from circuit diagrams and panel layouts provided.
  • Ensure electrical build quality is of the highest standard.
  • Electromechanical installation of control cubicle components and field components.
  • Terminate and secure external cabling to the correct points in the control panel.
  • Install PLC & HMI programs.
  • Perform earth continuity, insulation, and pre-delivery testing.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for breakdowns and commissioning.
  • Conduct operator and technical training at client sites or at Proseal.
  • Perform on-call and service duties as per rota.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workshop environment.

Note: Working outside normal hours, both in the UK and abroad, may occasionally be required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Time-served electrician with experience in industrial control system wiring and fault finding.
  • 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience with PLCs, servo drive systems, and AC inverters.
  • Experience in the food industry is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license.
