Job summary

Focus Training is seeking an Electrical Apprenticeships Tutor/Lecturer to deliver bespoke programmes and apprenticeships. The role is based mainly in our Exeter Centre with potential to support Hinkley Point C programmes.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 3, an assessor award if possible, and extensive industry experience (5+ years on the tools). A teaching qualification is desirable but training can be provided.

Electrical Apprenticeships Tutor/Lecturer

Role: Electrical Apprenticeships Tutor/Lecturer

Contract: Full time, permanent

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role Summary

Focus Training is looking for an experienced Electrical Apprenticeship Tutor/Lecturer to deliver bespoke programmes & apprenticeships. The successful candidate will be based in our Plymouth Centre.

A background in mechanical engineering would also be advantageous in order to support some of our bespoke programmes, but is not an essential requirement.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an Electrical Apprenticeships Tutor/Lecturer to teach learners against the 5357 Installation Electrician Level 3 Standard.

Based mainly in our Exeter Centre, with potential for supporting Hinkley Point C programmes running in Bridgwater, you will be responsible for classroom teaching, supporting students to build their portfolio of evidence, and ensuring the learner is fully prepared to sit their End Point Assessment.

You will need a positive, flexible attitude, as well as good IT skills as all learner portfolios are electronic. Good communication and motivation skills are essential to be able to work both one to one with learners and in groups when required.

A teaching qualification will be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.

The successful applicant will need to be qualified to NVQ Level 3.
If you don't already hold a Level 3 testing qualification, JIB Card, (Electrician Grade minimum) and an assessor award we can arrange and fund this training as part of your induction process.
Extensive industry experience is required, with a minimum of 5 years on the tools.
Driving license and own car essential - Full mileage paid at 55p per mile
An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
