Job summary

Women's Engineering Society in Maidenhead/High Wycombe is offering an Apprentice Electrical Engineer role designed to kick-start your career. You will spend one day a week at college developing theory and practical skills while the remaining four days in the workplace gaining hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, testing and facilities management.

You will work towards NVQ Level 3 and City & Guilds Electrical Installation, with support from experienced engineers to build a

Qualifications

GCSEs including Maths, English and Science or Functional Skills Level 2 are required.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop or live-site environment.
Good communication and teamwork to collaborate with colleagues and engineers.
Enthusiasm for practical problem-solving and learning new technical skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Support electrical installation work including wiring, containment, lighting and other components.
Help inspect, test, diagnose and rectify electrical faults under supervision.
Carry out basic electrical repairs and replace lamps, sockets, switches and lighting components.
Follow health, safety, environmental and permit-to-work procedures.
