Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification (HNC/NVQ Level 3 or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation & Control.

Job Description

We are working in partnership with a highly respected and long-established manufacturing business near Acle to recruit a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technician. This is on a '4 on, 4 off' basis, with days and nights involved.

Role Overview:

As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Control team, the E&I Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring plant safety, operational reliability, and product quality. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the site's electrical and control systems, supporting both planned maintenance and reactive fault resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities across the site, including calibration, fault finding, repair, and installation.
  • Work with 3-phase electrical distribution systems (24V DC to 11kV AC).
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and inspections in line with site schedules.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new plant and modifications to existing systems.
  • Ensure plant safety during maintenance, isolation, and reinstatement activities.
  • Collaborate with Process and Mechanical teams to maintain a high standard of plant performance.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to breakdowns and operational issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and root cause analysis.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification (HNC/NVQ Level 3 or higher) in Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation & Control.
  • Strong technical experience working in large-scale industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Sound understanding of health & safety, including control of hazards in complex environments.
  • Proven problem-solving, diagnostic, and system improvement skills.
  • Hands-on experience with both electrical and instrumentation systems; training can be provided for those who specialise in one area.
  • Excellent team player with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
