An experienced electrical and controls engineer is required by our established and successful client to create and maintain electrical hardware & software solutions within a busy manufacturing environment.

Our client has been established for almost 60 years and is the UK's leading manufacturer of innovative solutions in their niche industry sector, supplying various customers worldwide. Due to ongoing success and strategic growth, they are seeking a proactive Electrical and Controls Engineer to join their professional team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for electrical and instrumentation plant and equipment in a manufacturing setting, supporting projects and maintenance to ensure smooth operation.

The key responsibilities include:

• Routine preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on plant and instrumentation equipment.
• Contributing to continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and refurbishment projects.
• Designing electrical systems and developing PLC/HMI software for machinery and automation projects (preferably Siemens experience).
• Ensuring software backups with proper documentation for recovery.
• Managing E & I projects and coordinating with other departments to minimize production disruption.
• Procurement of parts and spares.
• Organizing contractor activities and planning shutdowns.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills, strong communication, and interpersonal skills. They should be autonomous and team-oriented, IT literate, qualified at least to C&G or BTEC in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience with PLC/HMI programming, drives, and controls, and general electrical and mechanical knowledge.
