About the Role

The Electrical Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of electrical and control systems across the production facility. This position combines leadership, technical expertise, and continuous improvement to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of the Automation Engineer:

  • Lead and mentor a skilled maintenance team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximise equipment reliability.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, championing a safety-first culture.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee reactive maintenance efforts, ensuring breakdowns are resolved swiftly and safely.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align systems performance with business needs.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advancements, particularly in PLCs, SCADA, and CMMS systems.

Essential Criteria for the Automation Engineer:

  • Degree, HND, HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
  • Proven expertise in PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems, such as IDhammar CMMS.
