The City of London Corporation is seeking an organised and detail-focused Electoral Services Officer to support the administration of elections and the maintenance of key electoral and civic databases.,
- Assist with the annual canvass for the Electoral Register and City Occupiers Database survey
- Process registration forms, postal vote applications, and respond to elector queries
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant electoral legislation
- Support the planning and delivery of elections and related civic events
- Carry out data entry, correspondence, and administrative duties in support of the team
- Liaise with members of the public, businesses, elected Members, and internal departments
- Help supervise and monitor casual canvass staff as required
- Contribute to service improvement, system updates, and engagement strategies
We're looking for someone who has: - Strong administrative or clerical experience, ideally within a local authority or large organisation
- A good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive attitude towards customer service and working in a public-facing environment
- An interest in electoral processes and willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. AEA Certificate)
- Knowledge of electoral registration legislation or previous experience in election administration would be an advantage but is not essential.
