A local council in Scotland is looking for a highly motivated part-time ELC Practitioner to join a nursery team. The successful candidate will work with children aged 3 to 5, providing high-quality interactions and learning experiences. Applicants must have relevant qualifications and demonstrate experience in early years education. This position offers 18 hours per week, with a contract running until April 2026.

Calderwood Nursery School is situated within the village of East Calder and serves the local area. The setting consists of am, pm and full day learners aged between three and five. The nursery provides spacious learning areas and there is a large outdoor and garden area. Calderwood Nursery falls under the management of Calderwood Primary School, which is situated in the same building. The setting is open 50 weeks per year and staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours.
Calderwood Nursery School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated part time ELC Practitioner to join our Nursery team. The successful candidate will work as part of a forward thinking team, which has a sound knowledge of child development and responds to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning and teaching experiences.
The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment.
This position requires full registration with the SSSC as a practitioner.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made
