A local government council in Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic Early Learning Childcare Officer for its Primary School Early Learning and Childcare Centre. The role entails creating a safe, stimulating nursery environment, implementing educational programs, and maintaining children's assessment records. West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Childcare Officer into our Levenvale Primary School Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
Staff will work contracted hours to meet the needs of the service. The main duties of the post are: to contribute to the provision of a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children; to contribute and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance; to plan, record, implement, and evaluate suitable programmes of activities; to maintain and record children's assessment progress; and to promote parental participation.
It is essential you have experience working with pre-five children in a relevant setting and have knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence (early level) and pre-birth to three-year-old guidance. You should be flexible in your approach and have the ability to adapt to change.
Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ2 Social Services (Children and Young People), or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). Successful candidates, if not already registered with SSSC as practitioners, will be required to gain this within 3 months of your appointment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and as such, membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
