Job summary

Realm Recruit is seeking an experienced Serious Injury Solicitor to lead a 6–7-strong EL/PL team. You will balance leadership with ongoing technical work, guiding performance while maintaining your own caseload.

The role offers significant autonomy, with a maternity-cover start turning permanent, and generous remote/flexible working options across UK offices. You will oversee team development, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive business referrals as the practice grows across multiple

Qualifications

• Qualified England & Wales solicitor with a current practising certificate.
• Significant experience managing EL/PL and serious injury claims.
• Strong understanding of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability law.
• Experience leading a team of solicitors or supervising at Senior Associate level.
• Ability to provide technical guidance on complex claims.
• Experience conducting advocacy.
• Maintains high technical and regulatory standards.
• Ability to monitor performance and develop others.
• Excellent communication and people-management skills.
• Business development and referral-generation experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of 6–7 solicitors handling multi-track EL/PL claims.
• Providing day-to-day leadership and technical support.
• Monitoring team performance against objectives and chargeable-hour expectations.
• Conducting file reviews and technical clinics.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Managing conflicts of interest and addressing ethical issues where required.
• Coaching, mentoring and supporting professional development.
• Managing your own small EL/PL caseload (~25%).
• Spending approximately 25% of chargeable time on own files.
• Supporting integration of EL/PL teams as practice grows.
• Developing local relationships and securing referrals.
• Contributing to department development and strategy.
