Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an EICA Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer to support electrical works for water projects. The role spans design and on-site delivery, ensuring technical soundness and efficient on-site execution.

The candidate should have 5+ years in project engineering, with cross-disciplinary experience in electrical design and delivery, especially within water or utilities. Salary up to £65,000 (DOE) with a company car/allowance, pension, healthcare and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering background with 5+ years' experience in a Project Engineer or similar role.
• Experience across electrical design and construction/delivery.
• Water sector experience advantageous.
• Experience for contractor/ design-and-build organisations beneficial.
• Good understanding of electrical installations and standards.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Comfortable working with site-based construction teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, coordination and delivery of electrical works across Southern Water projects.
• Review and develop electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers and the wider project team.
• Provide technical input throughout the design and construction stages.
• Ensure electrical installations are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during project delivery.
• Coordinate design changes and communicate to site teams.
• Assist with procurement and selection of electrical equipment and subcontractors.
• Monitor quality, programme and progress of electrical works on site.
• Support testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with client and company requirements.

EICA Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer - Water

Salary: Up to £55,000 - £65,000 per annum - DOE (+ package, details below)

Location: Manchester

Sector: Water / Wastewater

Working Arrangement: Predominantly site-based, with occasional home working

We are working with an established contractor within the water sector who is looking to appoint an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of projects across the Untied Utilities framework. This role would suit an EICA biased Project Engineer ' relevant experience, ideally with experience in the water or utilities sector. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both the design and delivery/build stages of projects, taking responsibility for ensuring electrical works are technically sound and delivered effectively on site.

Experience Required

• Electrical engineering background with over 5 years' experience in a Project Engineer or similar role.
• Experience working across both electrical design and construction/delivery.
• Previous experience within the water sector would be highly advantageous.
• Experience working for a contractor or design-and-build organisation would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of electrical installations, equipment and associated engineering standards.
• Able to interpret and review electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Comfortable working closely with site-based construction teams and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage projects and technical issues from design through to installation and completion.
