Job description

Overview

EIA Associate Director Opportunity in Planning and Development Consultancy based in London

Are you a highly motivated individual eager to take the next big step in your career and join a thriving staff-owned planning and development consultancy?

We are seeking an Associate Director with five or more years experience who shares our passion for shaping the most exciting projects across the UK. We are a nationally recognised, multi-award-winning planning and development consultancy and proud to have been named one of Property Week magazine’s ‘Best Places to Work in Property’.

Responsibilities
  • Dynamic environment: You will be supporting major clients and our in-house planning teams covering a wide range of sectors (including housing, education, retail, leisure, sport and infrastructure) across the UK and assisting in transforming our offer as the government shifts towards EOR.
  • Competitive rewards: Your hard work and dedication will be well-rewarded – we offer a highly competitive salary and a profit-sharing bonus scheme, reflecting our status as a staff-owned consultancy business.
  • Supportive culture: At Lichfields we foster a supportive and collaborative culture where we take care of one another and have a busy calendar of staff and client social events.
  • Flexibility: We prioritise flexibility and work-life balance and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
  • Professional development: This is a specialist role within our Infrastructure Planning and EIA team and you will work alongside colleagues with skills in the delivery of large scale planning projects, typically with EIA requirements. We provide training programmes to support your management of projects and the wider teams and the development of your specialist professional development.
Qualifications

We expect all candidates to have chartered membership of the RTPI, an RTPI accredited town planning qualification at Masters level (A RICS accredited qualification (planning & development route) and/or IEMA (or similar) accreditation), at least a 2:1 or equivalent at first degree level, and full information on A level, GCSE (or equivalent) and other qualifications should be provided. Candidates are most likely to have a background in planning and EIA; however, candidates with different degrees but relevant experience may be considered.

Candidates must demonstrate a very high level of technical competency and quality of work, carried out with minimal supervision, together with good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role will require working on a number of projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales, and ability to problem solve is critical. You may also have specialist EIA topic skills or interests. You will also have market credibility with a proven ability to win new work and clients, and nurture existing client relationships to win repeat business.

You will enjoy a social and collaborative work environment and be able to demonstrate you are an effective team worker.
