Are you an experienced Underground Cabling Project Manager seeking your next challenge? Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd (UK) is hiring! With a background in transmission and distribution, you will be skilled in tendering and executing large EHV cable projects. The ideal candidate will excel in safely delivering multi-million-pound projects on time and within budget. You will possess extensive experience in developing and delivering large EHV cable projects; familiarity with working on projects for NGED, SSEN, NGET, and similar operators; and a willingness to work on various cabling frameworks across the UK. This site-based position offers the opportunity to work across the UK, starting in the Midlands region. In this position, you will oversee project management and delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule. Your role will involve aligning project execution with Wood Transmission & Distribution and client objectives, emphasizing high standards throughout. Key qualifications include a successful track record in leading project teams on Cabling projects from design through to closeout, strong program and project management skills, and experience managing design requirements and commercial budgets for such projects. • Engineering qualification (HND / HNC) or equivalent industry track record.
• Project management qualification Association for Project Management (APM) or similar.
• Understanding of Engineering principles, Construction Design Management (CDM) guidelines; and working knowledge of Cabling Installation techniques.
• Recognised SHE qualification such as Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH).
• Experience of working with NGED, SSEN, NGET and other Distribution Network Operators.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness: experience of managing the design requirements for Cabling projects inclusive of commercial budgets; good knowledge of NEC forms of contract; and good knowledge of Street works, and Local Authority permit requirements.
• Ability to lead and build project teams; and experience of developing and managing good working relationships with client and sub-contractors.
• Ability to proactively resolve any site issues with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to work away from home when required and to hold a full driving licence.
