A Little More About Your Role

As an EHV Cables Project Manager you will lead feasibility, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning on existing or new substations and associated infrastructure.

What Will You Do
  • Develop EHV (33kV up to and including 132kV) projects from initial functional requirements into compliant, cost‑effective engineering solutions.
  • Project manage the development and delivery of EHV cable projects to time, cost, safety and quality targets.
  • Interface with customers, internal and external resources to deliver EHV cable projects.
  • Act as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for EHV cable projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal engineering and industrial resources.
  • Coordinate external service providers and administer commercial aspects.
  • Visit sites to assess project requirements, meet with project teams and contractors, monitor progress, conduct safety audits and discuss engineering challenges.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
  • Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience managing medium‑to‑large‑scale EHV cable projects through the full lifecycle—from initiation and design to tendering, construction, energisation and project closure.
  • Good understanding of electrical distribution plant items such as switchgear, power transformers and overhead lines.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering standards.
  • Excellent understanding of H&S and CDM requirements.
  • Ability to undertake the roles of Designer and Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and offices within the North East of England and Yorkshire.
