Job Title: EHV Cable Engineering Manager

Due to significant growth at Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK, we are seeking an EHV Cable Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will ensure compliance and enhance our technical credibility with clients by leading engineering delivery across multiple projects, ensuring quality and timeliness within budget.

We support a hybrid work model, combining office and remote work, with travel as needed. The position is based at any UK office, preferably Glasgow or Horsham.

Role Responsibilities

1. Deliver HV cable design solutions, coordinating a multidisciplinary team including electrical, civil, and CAD resources.
2. Coordinate with internal construction teams and external clients.
3. Contribute to the development and growth of the engineering team.
4. Manage project delivery, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to schedules and budgets.

Career Progression

Opportunities include advancement to Senior Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering, or transitioning to Head of Design for a more technical pathway.

Requirements

Essential:

• Chartered Engineer or equivalent (preferred).
• Significant experience in HV cable design and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills.
• Understanding of health and safety impacts on HV cable construction.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate via software like Microsoft Teams.

Desirable:

• Experience with British and European standards.
• Experience in cable construction planning and delivery.
• Knowledge of engineering management, scheduling, and cost control.
• Experience in tendering, technical presentations, and client engagement.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
