Job summary

Bakelite is seeking an EHS Manager for the Barry site to implement and maintain health, safety and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and company standards.

You will lead ISO 14001, COMAH, and Process Safety, manage incidents, training, and stakeholder engagement as part of the site leadership team.

Experience in auditing, budgeting, and using tools like Gensuite is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Chemistry/Engineering or significant EHS experience.
• Auditor training and experience.
• Proficient in software tools for EHS management (e.g., Gensuite).
• Experience with chemical processes and process safety is desirable.
• Able to manage budgets and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain site EHS policies and ensure compliance with UK regulations and company standards.
• Lead two-way communication between site and central EHS functions and provide proactive support.
• Lead ISO 14001 management system and ensure environmental performance.
• Ensure COMAH and process safety requirements are met and coordinate regulatory engagement.
• Drive EHS program design, risk-based decision making, and incident investigations.
• Deliver EHS training and communicate expectations across the organization.
• Manage EHS finances and liaise with authorities and external organisations.
