Job description

Job title: EHS Manager

Location: Broughton, Chester

Job type: 12-month Contract

Salary: £40 per hour Umbrella (35 hours per week)

iO Associates are seeking an EHS Manager to work with one of the top businesses that create, produce, and provide customers with aerospace goods and services. They oversee the production of commercial aircraft, including helicopters, spacecraft, and defence systems.

Required:

  • Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) with hands-on experience in Facilities Management, including construction and maintenance.
  • Proven track record of working closely with key stakeholders to deliver safety projects and tasks in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of risk assessment, auditing techniques, and the pragmatic application of health and safety standards.
  • A proactive, positive team player who works well independently and is committed to continuous professional development, ideally with IOSH membership.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the FMRE team and service providers by ensuring robust risk controls, legal compliance for new and existing equipment, and thorough safety pre-qualification for contractors.
  • Lead EHS inspections, maintain formal records, oversee incident reporting and investigations, and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide expert EHS guidance for strategic projects, including feasibility and design reviews, and deliver compliance audits aligned with regulations like CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act.
  • Promote a strong EHS culture across all levels of the organisation through safety reviews, KPI reporting, training, inductions, and awareness initiatives.
